Everything For Your Birds

I’m Lucy, the owner of Everything For Your Birds. It’s a shop that provides everything for you  pet birds.
I have seven pets at home – five parrots and two dogs. The parrots are an African grey called Benny,
two ringneck parakeets called Carlos and Fabian, and two lovebirds called Nochi and Nacho.

Most parrots are smart birds. They can learn to vocalise like humans and to do some tricks.
Benny is the smartest of all. I’ve taught him to follow commands. He can make the sounds of 20 items,
from a spaceship to a crying baby. All I do is to tell him to do something, and he does it.
However, I should immediately follow that up with a reward so that he will do it the next time.
Benny is so smart that he can identify himself in the mirror. He can make sentences like ‘I tired’ and ‘I happy’.

Carlos and Fabian have learnt lots of tricks. They’ve also learnt to repeat some of my sentences and questions.
Lots of ringneck parakeet owners teach their birds to kiss with a kissing sound. It often works,
and Carlos and Fabian aren’t an exception. When I ask them to kiss me,
they put their beaks on my face and make a kissing sound!

Nochi and Nacho aren’t that smart, however. They’re usually busy with themselves and their eating.
But they understand that I love them. Parrots are birds, and naturally they are hostile towards each other sometimes,
so I make sure to keep the little ones separate from the bigger ones.
