Exchange Students in Madrid

Last spring, our school took me and my classmates to Madrid. We went there as exchanges students for a month. I thought we were going there by plane, but we took the bus from Paris. The bus ride was long, but we sang, danced and laughed all the way.

When we arrived, our teacher, Miss Martin, took us to an old building. It wasn’t a hotel. It was just a smelly old building with no lift. We climbed up the stairs to the fourth floor, where there was a big flat with lots of rooms. I didn’t really like the place, but the breakfast there was so good.

The weather wasn’t bad. It was sometimes too hot, but it was OK in the evening and at night. For three weeks, we took classes and did interesting projects. We also travelled to other cities in Spain, like Barcelona, and visited famous places. I really enjoyed the tour there. After four weeks, I didn’t want to go back home. I knew that I was going to miss everything, but not the place we stayed in.
