EXPEDITION TO THE MOON
“First Man” is a film about the life of Neil Armstrong. As everyone knows, he is the first human being that walked on the moon in 1969. The movie is a respectable portrayal of the incredible historical moment. The story is told through the eyes of Neil Armstrong. The movie stars had to go to space camp and get astronaut training there for months. The lead actor, Ryan Gosling, even learned how to fly and he said he understood why Neil Armstrong was one of the greatest pilots of all time. It was surprising for him to learn how dangerous that mission was and how limited the technology was at that time.
Damien Chazelle, the director of the film, says he sees a lot of similarities between Neil Armstrong and Ryan Gosling. They are both modest in their profession and their success. Besides, Gosling performs so well in the film. It was also a great experiment for the supporting cast because they learnt about the sacrifices of astronauts in their mission. This new perspective helped them perform better in the movie.
