Extreme Jobs

Working from 9 am to 5 pm in an office is not for everyone. Here are some of the world’s most extreme jobs for people who like adrenaline.

Tornado Chaser: A tornado chaser’s job involves travelling in a car, truck, or van sometimes thousands of miles a week following storms and hoping to get close enough to observe and photograph them. Chasers start each day checking up on weather systems and then driving to where tornadoes are. They use GPS or small weather computers to find them. They don’t make a lot of money from this job, so they only do this as a part-time job.

Skydiving Instructor: A skydiving instructor’s office is an airplane. They teach people how to skydive. When their students are just beginners, they need to jump off the plane with them. After the students get their skydiving licence, they can skydive without an instructor. A skydiving instructor’s work schedule depends on the weather. If the weather is bad, they don’t work at all. However, if it is good, they can make up to 15 jumps a day. As they have to think of their students’ and their safety, their equipment should be safe and checked before every jump.

Professional Stunt Performer: A stunt performer, or a stuntman, is someone who performs dangerous stunts in a film for the leading actor. As producers do not want their famous actors to act in dangerous scenes, they hire stuntmen to do the job. A stuntman’s job is not stable. They might have to jump off a tall building in a film or crash a in another. This job seems to involve risk but they are equipped with safety items and they are well-trained.
