Big Ben
Big Ben is one of the most famous clock towers in the world. The name is used to describe the clock tower that is part of the Palace of Westminster. The name refers to the huge 13-tonne Great Bell that sits at the top of the 96-metre high tower. The tower is known as the Elizabeth Tower. It started to work in 1859.
Taj Mahal
The Taj Mahal is a glorious structure in India, built of white marble. Emperor Shah Jahan had this wonderful monument made in memory of his third wife, Mumtaz Mahal. It took more than 22,000 people and around 17 years to build. The four sides of the Taj Mahal are exactly the same.
Statue of Liberty
Its full name is Liberty Enlightening the World. There are a total of 354 stairs to reach the statue’s crown, which has 25 windows. The crown of this statue has seven spikes, which represent the seven oceans and seven continents. It was a gift from France to America.
Eiffel Tower
Alexandre Gustav Eiffel, an engineer, designed this outstanding monument. It was opened in 1889. It took two years, two months and five days to build the tower. When it was built, it was the tallest building in the world at a height of 324 metres.
