Famous Inventors
These days, it is easy to call someone, because you have a phone. But in the past, there weren’t any. When was the first phone invented? You probably don’t know the answer. Do you know who invented the phone, or the plane for that matter? Let’s learn.
ALEXANDER GRAHAM BELL
Alexander Graham Bell was born in Edinburgh, Scotland, on 3rd March 1847. Bell is the inventor of telephone. He had an assistant called Thomas A. Watson. While Bell was trying to discover how to send multiple messages on a single wire, he heard the sound of Watson speaking. He started attempting to send sound along a wire. After hearing the sound, Bell sent the sound of a human voice over a longer wire. Thus, Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone on 10th March 1876.
THE WRIGHT BROTHERS
Wilbur and Orville Wright were two brothers. Wilbur was 4 years older than Orville. Wilbur Wright was born on 16th April 1867. Orville was born on 19th August 1871. They invented the first plane. They were also the first people to fly a plane. They flew the first plane successfully on 17th December 1903.
