Famous Singers Who Failed Big Before They Made It!

Don’t be afraid to fail in the pursuit of your dreams. Keep in mind that failure is just the first step towards success, and by trying, you’re already on your way. Take a look at some of the world's most famous musicians. If you think that it was easy for them, think again. Many talented artists that you know and love today have some insane backstories where they were met with failure quite often. To help inspire you, let's have a look at some musicians who failed miserably before achieving success.

The Beatles: The biggest and best band of all time faced a whole lot of rejection at the beginning. They were told by one of the record companies that their sound was not good and that guitar music was on the way out. Guitar music, on the verge of the 1960s and 1970s rock’n’roll, was becoming more popular. Hopefully, the person who said this to the Beatles found another job, as that prediction was completely wrong, as was his prediction about their sound. Over 60 years later, the Beatles’ music still has a huge impact.

Bruno Mars: Looking at him now, you’d have no idea that Bruno was turned down multiple times by the music industry. When he began releasing music, producers and record companies told him that his music was all over the place and that he would never succeed because he doesn’t understand how to sell his music commercially. However, Bruno kept going, not letting these comments get him down. He said that because he listened to so many genres, they all influenced his music, and that was no reason to be rejected. Also, at one point, he was rejected simply because of his race. When his #1 hit Nothin' on You was first written, he showed it to an industry bigwig who replied, ‘Oh man, what a song! Do you know what kind of white artist we could break with this?’ I bet you that executive feels real dumb about now.

Lady Gaga: Lady Gaga is born to be a modern pop star. Since breaking out with successful songs such as Poker Face and Just Dance, she has become a pop icon who pushes limits with her over-the-top performances and fashion choices. It seems unlikely to believe that any record company would reject Lady Gaga. Unlikely, but not impossible. She was signed by L.A. Reid to Def Jam Records, but then the company dropped her after three months. They labelled her music as disgusting and said it would never be marketable. Lady Gaga held her head high and told the executives, ‘My name is Lady Gaga. I’ve been on the music scene for years, and I’m telling you, this is what’s next.’ She was right.
