Famous Zoo: A Trip To The Zoo

Last weekend, I went to the zoo with my class. It is a very big, old and famous zoo. In fact, it is the oldest zoo in the country. Many people like going to the zoo, but I hated it. 

All the ‘most exciting’ animals were in the main part of the zoo. There were gorillas, elephants, hippos, lions, tigers, monkeys and giraffes. The people walk around the enclosures looking at the animals, and the animals sit and look at the people. Some naughty children threw their rubbish into some of the enclosures; this made me so angry! In the gorilla enclosure, there was a group of gorillas sitting in the middle. In the far corner, there was one gorilla sitting alone. He looked really sad, and it made me feel sad too. 

In another part of the zoo, they had birds like eagles and owls. They were all in cages. They made a lot of noise in their cages. I think they wanted to be flying in the sky; not stuck in cages. After this, there was an area with sea creatures. I think this was the saddest part for me. There were sharks, dolphins and whales. They had a small pool each and just swam around and around. 

I think I hated the zoo so much because all the animals looked so sad to me, and I wondered how I would feel if I were kept in a cage all day, every day. I think eagles should be flying in the sky, lions should be hunting in the savannah and whales should be swimming in the ocean.
