Fawkes the Phoenix

The Harry Potter movies have very interesting animals. My favourite one is a phoenix named Fawkes. It belongs to the great wizard, Albus Dumbledore. It is a mythical bird; it has bright red feathers and a golden tail as long as a peacock’s. Its claws and beak are gleaming gold and its eyes are black. It can control the temperature of its tail feathers and burn someone if it wants. Fawkes lives with Dumbledore at Hogwarts Castle for most of its life. Its tears can cure injuries, and it can be used as a messenger.
It’s very brave. It sings beautifully, and when it does, you can feel the song in you. When it dies, it is reborn from its ashes. I wish I had a pet like that.
