FILMS THAT YOU MUST WATCH WHILE YOU ARE YOUNG

There are many lists on the internet for teenagers about films to watch. On these lists, there are many kinds of films ranging from animations, comedies and dramas to thrillers, science-fiction and fantasy films. According to a list of films picked by the British Film Institute, there are both classics like E.T., The Wizard of Oz, and other must-watch films. There are a number of movies on the list that teenagers probably aren’t going to watch because they might think they are too boring for them. For example, classic films have often been boring for teenagers. However, today we have a shortlist of fantasy film recommendations for teens which are also the highest earning films in the film industry.

The “Lord of the Rings” trilogy is a fantasy movie directed by Peter Jackson and it’s based on J.R.R. Tolkien’s novel. We’d definitely encourage teens to watch Jackson’s epic adventure tale. The 2001 Tolkien adaptation is a universal tale and the story contains many themes such as love and loss, hope and fear, and so on. The story takes place in “Middle-earth” in an unknown time. However, the film has an entirely believable setting that makes you feel it’s naturally out of a real period of history. The film is about a hobbit named Frodo Baggins and his fellows’ adventures trying to find and destroy the “One Ring”. It’s a great film to watch and see what friends can achieve when they work together.

“Harry Potter” is a British-American film series. Actually there are eight fantasy films and they are all based on J. K. Rowling’s novels. Even before they were made into films, the books also made their author known worldwide and also very rich. Nobody could guess how popular they would be. The story is about Harry Potter who is an orphaned boy brought up by his unfriendly aunt and uncle. At the age of eleven, halfgiant Rubeus Hagrid informs him that he is actually a wizard. The films are about the adventures of Harry and his friends Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger.

“Alice in Wonderland” is another fantasy film based on Lewis Caroll’s novel “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.” The film was directed by Tim Burton in 2010. Johnny Depp and Anne Hathaway also star in the film. It tells the story of nineteen-year-old Alice. She returns to the magical world from her childhood adventure and she sees her old friends. In Wonderland she learns about her true destiny. It’s a real classic that all teenagers should read and watch.
