First Day at School

This is Zoe. She is 9 years old. This is her first day at school and she is very scared. She doesn’t want to go to school. She feels sick and sad. Her mum says, “You’ll be fine when you meet your classmates and your teacher.”

When Zoe goes to school, she sees a girl outside. The girl looks at her and smiles. She comes over to her, “Hi”, she says, “My name is Kate. What’s your name?” “Zoe.” “Are you a new student?” “Yes.” “I understand how you feel. Last year I was new, too. Come on, let me help you.” They go into the school together. Now, Zoe feels much better. She has a friend already.
