Food in British Schools

Eating healthy food is very important.  Schools in Britain serve healthy lunches to students.
The lunches have got chicken or fish, with rice or potatoes.
Also, they have got vegetables like tomatoes or carrots.  Usually, students drink milk or water.

However, children in Britain like to eat snacks.  Sixty-four per cent of children eat a snack between meals.
The two most popular snacks are crisps and chocolate.  Many schools in Britain have a canteen.
They sell sweets and salty snacks to students.  Much of the food has got sugar in it.

Parents are worried that their children eat too many sweets.  They want the canteens to sell healthy food.
Apples, bananas, and other fruit are better than chocolate or crisps.  One day, canteens won’t sell sweet snacks.
They will only sell healthy food.
