FOOTBALL IS MY LIFE

FOOTBALL IS MY LIFE

I still can’t believe we are on a plane flying to Spain, the home of some of the best football in the world, and on our way to meet Cristiano Ronaldo and his teammates. I have always been interested in football. My mum tells me that even when I could not speak a word, I was good at kicking a ball. She says that she would put me in front of the TV to watch a football match, and then she could finish all the housework without interruption because I was glued to the match!

My football coach Mr Howards is the reason for this amazing trip. I started playing for the school football team when I was a sixth-grader, and Mr Howards came to watch a game of ours. I did my best that day because I knew he was going to choose the best players. He selected me for his team, which helps footballers join the national youth team of England.

We have great training at his club. We learn new tricks, like how to pass the ball really well, and how to tackle, bounce and use our head to hit the ball, too. I always give the goalkeepers a hard time. I usually score five or six goals at every training session. That is why I won the most talented football player of the year award was given by the Youth League Championship. As well as getting the trophy, winning the award means having the opportunity to meet famous football players, and train with them in Europe. Now, I am on the plane to Spain to meet Cristiano Ronaldo and the Real Madrid team.

I will play football with him and join his training sessions for a week. My mum loved the idea because the parents of the most talented football players are also included in the trip. Going on this trip was my dream, and I’m so happy to see it coming true. If you want to achieve your dreams, never stop trying and always do your best. My next goal is to play for England.
