GALACTIC AND BLUE ORIGIN

You have probably heard of many travel agencies. Some taking you to Europe to the world’s most known popular touristic cities, some take you to tropical island and even some who take you to the Arctic Circle where you can watch the Northern light. With the help of the Internet and the decreased prices of airplane and train tickets, we see that the number of people who travel rises every year. But have you heard of travel tourism companies that take you to the space? Maybe you have but if you haven’t just read the information below.

GALACTIC

Richard Branson is a very successful businessman. Even though he had dyslexia and had to drop school at the age of sixteen, he could build a very successful music production company. Virgin Records is still one of the most well-known music studios. With that success, he then started Voyager Group, which is a travel company, Virgin Atlantic Airlines and Virgin Megastores. In recent years, Branson has focused much of his attention on his space-tourism. His mission is to offer everyone the opportunity to board a spacecraft as a “private astronaut.” For that mission he started Virgin Galactic. He offers people a flight, which will reach the edge of outer space. But it won’t make a full rotation around Earth. So far 700 people have booked a flight. The cost per seat in the spacecraft is $250,000. The company has had five test flights and they were all successful. They say that they are aiming to start space travel for tourists in 2020.

BLUE ORIGIN

Blue Origin is owned by Jeff Bezos. He is the founder of Amazon and one of the richest man on Earth. But he is planning to be the richest man on the galaxy as with his space travel startup company, Blue Origin he offers space expeditions for people who are ready to pay for it. His rocket New Shepard, had its eleventh successful test flight on May 2, 2019. Bezos plans to fly space tourists on the spacecraft by the end of 2019. Bezos explained the company’s mission in two sentences: “If you really want to make it so that anybody can go into space, you have to increase the safety and decrease the cost. That’s Blue Origin’s mission.”
