Gary And Blaire
Gary: Would you mind if I borrowed your dictionary?
Blaire: Not at all. Here you are. What are you doing?
Gary: I’m writing a poem about friendship.
Blaire: Oh, great! You write excellent poems. If you sold your poems, you’d earn a lot of money.
Gary: Actually, I want to put all of my poems in a book. If I have some money, I’ll publish the book.
Blaire: Do you mind if I ask what the other poems are about?
Gary: They’re usually about my friends and family. But I have a problem. I don’t have a lot of things to write about.
If I went out with friends more often, I’d write better poems.
Blaire: Well, if you want to go out, you can join our outing group. We go out,
go camping and do lots of other things. Everybody would be happy if you came with us.
This weekend we’re going hiking together. If you come, you might be exhausted at the end of the day.
Gary: Yeah, maybe. I wouldn’t be so unfit if I didn’t spend so much time at home. But I would join if I could. Can I?
Blaire: Of course, you can.
