GARY'S BLOG

Hi everyone!
I’ve just come back from a fantastic two-day trip to Iceland. I went there with my cousin Ted. We stayed in the capital, Reykjavík. As you know, Ted loves travelling so he was really excited like me. When we arrived at our hotel, I was a little disappointed because the rooms looked bigger in the photos, but it wasn’t the biggest problem. The air conditioner was not working, so we had to wait for an hour before it was fixed. After we put our things in our room, we went straight to the city centre. It was wonderful! We went to a traditional restaurant and had Kjötsúpa which is a kind of meat soup. I loved it. Ted ordered something else. It was like ‘hot dog’ but had a different name. After lunch, we bought a few things for our parents and friends. I didn’t spend as much money as Ted did. I just bought some magnets, mugs and postcards. Then, we went to Nauthólsvík Geothermal Beach. There were too many tourists so we didn’t stay there as much as we wanted to. We took lots of photos though – you can see one of the photos here on my blog. In the evening, we had dinner at a restaurant near the hotel. On the second day, we joined a private city tour. We got tired, but it was it for the places we saw! I’ll tell you about it in my next entry.
