GENERAL KNOWLEDGE
If you ask people whether or not having general knowledge is a good thing, most of them will have a positive answer. Others would be to some extent sceptical of the benefits it might have by pointing out that having lots of general knowledge can lead to a shallow understanding of different topics. Although some may argue that having lots of general knowledge is like being an ocean with a depth of one millimetre and that expert knowledge can have more benefits, in this article, my focus is to present the benefits of general knowledge.

Being up to date on general knowledge helps you present yourself as a knowledgeable person, which immediately attracts the attention of people at a gathering or discussion table. It also equips you with interesting facts that you can use to keep your audience amused when others are boring each other to death with their chit-chat.
As a parent, you may not need expert-level knowledge about how to raise your children. Simply knowing the basics that can solve your everyday problems with your children is enough. Your children also do not need to learn expert knowledge from you about almost anything. Instead, what they might rely on is your basic knowledge of things, so you can guide them better.
