So, you’ve seen all the advertisements, the articles, the tons of internet chatter, but you don’t know why lots of people, even your friends have been fans of the series. They’ve been super excited to see Luke, Han and Leia again, but you don’t know who they are. You’re one of the few remaining people on this earth who has never seen a Star Wars film, breaking global records, so now you want to know what on earth is going on. Luckily, we’re here with this beginners guide to give you a basic idea about Star Wars.

Star Wars is a Mega Science fantasy that has taken place a long time ago in a galaxy far far away. The first movie came out in 1977. It has 7 movies in total and has a book series running parallel to it. Unlike the other Sci-fi movies, it’s mostly been less about Sci-fi, but more about human relations, decisions, threat, love, loyalty and good vs evil.

In the movies, the good side is represented by Jedi and the bad by the emperor. The story revolves around one such gifted person Anakin Skywalker who becomes a Jedi and then turns into evil Darth Vader and his son Luke Skywalker who came up against him after being trained as a Jedi as well.

You also have to know that there are three trilogies in the Star Wars saga. The original three films are numbers 4, 5 and 6. Numbers 1, 2 and 3 tell about what happened before the original three films. The Force Awakens, Episodes 8 and 9 are about what happened after the original ones. Confused? Don’t panic because the whole story and the movies are tightly built and have attracted generations since 1977. This is the main reason why it’s been so popular since the beginning.
