Healthy Diet
People love eating food. Some people prefer eating lots of fruit and vegetables; others prefer eating meat and pastry. Not everyone eats healthy food. The process of providing the necessary food for our body is called nutrition. Nutrition is very important. We should get all the vitamins and minerals that is needed for our muscles and bones.
Good nutrition keeps you healthy and safe. Parents think a lot about the nutrition of their children. As children are growing up, what they eat becomes very important. If they eat unhealthy food all the time, their body will not work properly. They will not be able to grow tall and strong. Children need calcium, potassium, magnesium and other minerals, and if they don’t get enough of these, they may have some health problems in the future. So, how can we balance their diet?
There are five main food groups that people should consume each day. The first and most important group is grains. It includes bread, cereal, pasta and rice. These give you the energy that you need all day. The second food group is dairy. Milk, cheese, yogurt and other dairy products are in this group. They are good for your bones. Fruit and vegetables are another group. Apples, oranges, grapes, bananas, beans, broccoli, peas, carrots and corn are in this group. The fourth group is protein, which is mainly found in meat, chicken, eggs, nuts and fish. The last group contains oil. We all need some oil for our body, but it is not good for your body to eat a lot of them and not eat from the other groups.
No matter how careful you are with what you eat, exercise is very important too if you want a healthy body. We only have one body, and we should take care of it.
