We all know that we should be careful with our diet in order to be healthy, but this is not enough. We should also drink water, do exercise and get enough sleep. Water keeps our body and mind healthy. Don’t forget that two-thirds of our body is water. We should replace the water that we lose. If we don’t have enough water, we have dry skin, dull hair and we feel tired. Every day we need to drink about six glasses of water, but we can get some of this water from the food that we eat. For example, cooked rice contains %69 water. Too much of everything is harmful for human body. Even water can be harmful when we drink more than the body needs. Believe it or not, you can die from drinking too much water.
Doing exercise regularly is good for our body and helps to burn calories. Did you know that after a hamburger, large fries and a milkshake you need to run for more than three hours to burn the calories? When you don’t run, you gain weight. Exercise doesn’t only help us keep fit. It also helps our brain and changes our mood. We forget about our problems when we exercise because our body produces some chemicals that make us feel happy. It doesn’t matter what kind of exercise we do. We can do any kind of exercise we want like riding a bike, swimming, running, walking, dancing etc. We should exercise about twenty minutes every day.
Did you know that sleep is more important than food? Adults can survive three weeks without food but only three days without sleep. The amount of sleep changes according to our age. For example, teenagers and adults need between eight and ten hours of sleep a day, babies need more and older people sleep less. We usually fall asleep in seven minutes. Some people have problems falling asleep.
