Hi Ella!

Hi Ella!

Hi Ella! I’m so excited. Yesterday we finally arrived in Europa. Europa is one of Jupiter’s sixty moons.
It doesn’t have much atmosphere. It’s like our moon’s atmosphere. But the view is so cool!
The skies are beautiful. We often see Jupiter’s other moons. Jupiter is so close that I feel like I can touch it.
You can see all the red and orange clouds on the planet very clearly.

Europa’s surface is all ice. It’s very pretty, but super cold here! The normal temperature is -160 C.
We have to wear warm clothes all the time. Also, a lot of radiation comes from Jupiter.
The glass dome over the city protects us from the radiation.

There is a saltwater ocean under the ice. The city gets a lot of oxygen from the ocean through large pumps.
Sometimes there are small ice quakes here too. They feel like earthquakes on Earth.
I heard that moon skiing is very popular. We can’t do that on Europa.  It’s very flat.
A lot of teenagers here like to go ice surfing. People climb the large ice blocks and try to surf down them.
The gravity is like the Earth’s moon. Sometimes people fall, but they don’t get hurt. I will try it next week!
This email will take about 30 minutes to get to you. Write back soon!
