HOLIDAY MEMORIES

Last year, we decided to go camping for our summer holiday. As we were a family with five kids, my parents left nothing to chance, and so they bought all the equipment that we might need during the camping trip. Checklists were made, bags were prepared a week early, and shopping was done in advance. Finally, that day came and we piled into the station wagon and started our first camping holiday early in the morning. After five hours, when we were so close to our destination, my mum realized that something was missing: one of my sisters! We went all the way back home and found my sister sleeping in her bed.

Last February my parents planned a winter holiday so my little sister Sally, who is 4 years-old, could learn to ski. My mum spent a fortune buying all the required clothes including ski jackets and pants, goggles and gloves. When we arrived at the hotel, my mum opened my sister’s suitcase and she was shocked to see that Sally had replaced all her clothing with toys. We learnt that she had taken out everything from the luggage in order to put all her favourite toys in!

It was my first time snorkelling and I was really anxious and a little bit scared. After spending a few minutes to calm myself and control my breath, I started to discover the sea and to chase the colourful fish around. Then, suddenly I saw a snake-like creature which was very close to my chest. I hadn’t known that I could swim that fast! I was on the boat in a minute screaming and trying to get rid of the snake. I joined the other people laughing hard as soon as I realized that it was the belt strap of my life jacket, not a snake, that I was trying to run away from!
