Home Sweet Office
For most people, a regular workday means waking up, eating breakfast, driving to the office, working for about 8 hours and then driving back home. But not all workers have this experience. Take Kourtney Brown as an example. She gets up early every morning during the week. She has breakfast and gets dressed. After that, she goes to work. She’s in her office in less than five minutes. Why? Because Kourtney works at home.
Kourtney is a computer specialist, and she usually works 40 hours a week at her house! She explains about her home office: “This is the most productive room in my house. This room is a place where I can concentrate on my work and feel comfortable at the same time. Of course, I have all the necessary equipment of a regular office in this room. Look! This is a computer desk with storage drawers. There is plenty of paper in one of the drawers. There are also staples and a stapler, paper clips, highlighters, pens and erasers in the other drawer. My computer is in the centre of my desk. There is a comfortable office chair to sit on. That bookcase over there is my favourite thing in this room. Can you see those lovely bookends on the shelf? I love them. I also have a lamp near my computer to help me read. In the room, there is a comfortable armchair and a sofa. There is also a coffee table in front of the sofa. There are some magazines on it. Oh, I love this room very much! It’s clean and uncluttered, but also cosy and inspiring. This is my perfect place to work.”
