HOMO SAPIENS

HOMO SAPIENS

Modern humans are called the Homo sapiens. Humans first appeared in Africa around 200,000 years ago.
About 100,000 years ago, the climate of Africa started to change.
So some humans moved to Asia through
Arabia and went to India and Southeast Asia. 50,000 years ago,
more humans moved to Asia, but
they continued to Europe. That was the time when they met Neanderthals.
Neanderthals were a different
kind of humans, but about 5,000 years after they met humans, they died out.

Around 25,000 years ago humans were able to move to North America during the ice age.
Then about 16,000
years ago, they quickly spread across North America and South America.
Today humans know all of the
lands in the world, but as early as 300 years ago, some places weren’t known yet.
