House Chores

It’s Saturday and it’s very busy at Emma’s house. Grandma and Grandpa are coming to visit on Sunday. Emma’s mum is cleaning upstairs. She’s mopping the bathroom floor. It looks very clean. Now, she’s making the bed in Grandma and Grandpa’s room. Emma is helping her mum upstairs. Mum is giving her some clean sheets for the bed. ‘Oh they smell beautiful,’ says Emma. Now, Emma’s doing the ironing. ‘Be careful Emma, the iron is very hot’ says her mum. ‘Alright Mum’ says Emma.
Dad and Alex are downstairs. Alex is vacuuming the dining room floor and the carpets. They have two dogs, Spotty and Spiky; so the carpets get dirty very quickly. Alex hears a loud noise in the kitchen. ‘Are you in the kitchen Dad?’ he asks. He goes to the kitchen. ‘Oh no, what are you doing?’ he shouts. Spotty is on the kitchen table and eating the apple pie! ‘You naughty dog, get out!’ Alex shouts. Spotty is in the garden now and hiding behind the bushes.
Dad is in the garage. He’s washing the car. He needs more water. ‘Can you help me here, Alex?’ he asks. ‘I’m coming’ says Alex. Alex goes to the garage.
‘Can you bring me two buckets of water?’ asks Dad. ‘Of course!’ says
Alex. Dad and Alex are washing the car together. It looks shiny and clean now.
Oh no! Spotty and Spiky are playing with the water hose in the garden.
They are all wet. Dad and Alex are laughing. Mum laughs and says ‘I think the dogs are watering the flowers.’
