How different was life 20 years ago?

I was 10 years old in 1996! I can’t believe that time has passed so quickly! They call my generation the ‘last generation who experienced life without the Internet’, and they’re right! The amount of change that our lives have gone through is unimaginable.

I remember the first time my dad got a mobile phone. To us, it was a strange concept that a phone could work without a cord. More amazing was its ability to send messages, and it also had some games on it.

Around those times, a new type of disk appeared in the market. It was called the DVD and could hold more than four times the data a CD could contain. Now, we could watch higher-quality films and store more data on just one disk.

In 2000, the first USB flash drives were sold. Two years later, we were so happy that we could have USB flash drives that could hold 128 Megabytes.

In the early 1990s, when the Internet had not become popular, people used to send each other letters, listened to the radio on tape recorders, watched videos on VCRs, took pictures on actual film and played games in the video arcade.
