How I Met Him
I owe a lot of my social skills to my parents. Even though they didn’t use to have a peaceful relationship all the time, they always tried to look at the bright side of things. They used to argue and fall out a lot, but they would immediately make up and wouldn’t let negativity damage their relationship.
During my college years, my parents hosted a lot of gatherings with friends and relatives. It was through these parties that I met my husband. I used to be extremely shy, unlike my parents, and I tried to avoid crowds as much as I could. It was during those years that I got used to meeting new people and starting small conversations with total strangers.
My dad used to have this habit of introducing multiple people to each other at a party. At one of the parties, seeing that I was too shy to approach anyone, he introduced Brian, the son of one of his old friends, to me. After a short conversation, we realized that we had a lot in common, even our shyness.
