HOW TO BE A SMART SHOPPER

We asked our readers to give us some advice about shopping. On this month’s ‘Teen Fashion’ magazine, we will give you top 10 tips on how to be a smart shopper:

A)....................................

1. Make a shopping list: Stick to that list and don’t buy other things in the store. This way, you won’t buy things that you won’t need.

2. Do the maths: Calculate how much everything would cost. Take only that much money with you.

3. Search online first: The prices of internet stores are often cheaper than the prices at the shop. Look at prices online before you go shopping.

4. Research the facts: Look online for information about things like electronics. Know what you need.

5. Ask your parents: Get your mum’s or dad’s opinion about expensive things, and not just when they’re paying.

B)....................................

6. Compare prices: Some stores are more expensive than others. To save money, compare prices before you buy something.

7. Always think about quality: Compare the quality, not just the price, especially in clothing stores and shoe stores. Sometimes prices are lower, but the quality’s worse.

8. Simple is better: Buy simple clothes. You can wear them when fashions change and make them more interesting with accessories.

9. Take your time: If you can’t decide, don’t buy the item immediately. Leave the store and give yourself some more time to think. A slow decision is better than a bad decision.

C)....................................

10. Don’t rip off the price tag: When you get home, leave the price tag on. You can always exchange things later if you change your mind.
