How was Your Food?
Last week, we asked Tom and Briana about the recipes they tried. Today, we asked them to talk about their first cooking experience.
Tom: ‘I fell in love with cooking when I was 7 years old. My uncle had a restaurant in my neighbourhood, so I always went there to watch the chef cook. The chef was a kind man, and he taught me lots of things. Every time I learnt a recipe, I went home and tried to cook the food. My mum helped a lot too. She taught me the basic things about cooking and different kinds of foods. I remember that I cooked chicken soup for the first time. I didn’t think it was good, but everybody said it was great. With that first experience, I wanted to cook more soup!’
Briana: ‘My first experience in cooking was when my mum and dad were both ill. My mum usually made soup when I was ill, so I asked her to teach me to cook some soup for them. She gave me the recipe for vegetable soup. Then, she sat down in the kitchen to tell me what to do. I can say that it wasn’t the best soup, but I knew that I did my best. After all, I was just 6 years old then.’
