A hurricane is a violent, tropical storm. Hurricane Patricia was one of the strongest hurricanes in history. It only lasted 24 hours. The speed of its winds were 193 km/h. Fortunately, it hit places where not many people lived like Southwest Mexico in October 2015. The hurricane killed 6 people, wounded only a few. However, it destroyed 3.000 houses.
Hurricane Katrina
Hurricane Katrina was one of the deadliest hurricanes in the United States. It took place in New Orleans, Louisiana, Alabama and Mississippi in 2005 and killed 1.833 people. It flooded 80% of New Orleans. People waited for rescue for weeks. 273.000 people lost their homes. Hurricane Katrina cost 108 billion dollars.
