İmportant Parts of Computers
CPU
CUP is short for the ‘central processing unit’. It’s the brain of your computer. Everything on your computer goes into the CPU and leaves it to the other parts of the computer. CPUs today are very fast. Here’s a photo of the first CPU from 1970.
Mouse
The computer mouse helps us point at things on the computer screen. You use your hand on the mouse to select or click on your files and other items on your monitor. Touch-screen devices like smartphones and tablets don’t need a computer mouse. Today's mouses are wireless and work with light. Here's a picture of the first mouse from 1964. It’s made of wood and works with wheels.
Hard disk
The hard disk keeps all of your information. You can turn off your computer and leave your data on your hard disk. Then you can use it when your computer is on again. Hard disks of today are small and can keep lots of data, for example millions of pictures. Here’s a photo of the first hard drive from 1956. It keeps a data of only 3.75 bytes.
