In the Counsellor’s Office
James: Hello, Mrs Jenkins.
Mrs Jenkins: Hello, James. Now, sit down, please. Mrs Conrad asked me to speak to you today because you have been quite talkative recently and rather messy.
James: Oh, me? Are you sure?
Mrs Jenkins: James, tell me how you have been acting in your class during the lessons.
James: I have been listening to my teacher and helping my friends.
Mrs Jenkins: Tell me more. What do you do exactly?
James: I mean, I always do my homework on time and I try not to make any mess in the classroom. I am always helpful. I help my friends if they don’t understand something. I also help my mum at home. I help her make breakfast. Of course, I don’t do the washing up or housework but I help her when she does the shopping and I carry the bags. Mrs Jenkins, I have always tried to be a good student. I don’t understand why I’m here.
Mrs Jenkins: Just a minute, James. Let me call Mrs Conrad. She smiles at James and dials the phone.
Mrs Jenkins: Hello, Mrs Conrad, I have James here and he has been telling me how he is in your lessons,
and he seems to be a really helpful boy. I don’t see how he can be causing any problems...
Mrs Conrad: Oh, James is a great student. I think there has been a mistake. I’ve had some problems with Jameson, not James.
Mrs Jenkins: Oh, now I get it, thanks! So, James, I am so happy that you have been a great helper both to your teacher and to your mum, keep up the good work!
James: Ok, Mrs Jenkins, I can also help you whenever you need me. Bye!
