Insects

Insects are a kind of animal. Insects live all around the world. There are many types of insects. Crickets, ants, grasshoppers, butterflies, ladybugs and bees are examples of insects. Insects don’t have backbones, but they have got bones on the outside called an exoskeleton. The exoskeleton is like a shell. Some insects change when they grow. For example, caterpillars don’t have wings when they are born, but later they turn into butterflies and get wings. Insects have got six legs. Spiders are not insects because they have got eight legs. Insects have got three body parts. The three parts are the head, the thorax and the abdomen. Insects like eating plants. Their favourite food is leaves.

Octopuses

An octopus is a sea animal. It lives in the sea and the ocean. Octopuses are strange animals. They have got a very large head and eight arms. These arms are very long. They like seas and oceans because there are many colorful plants. They like hiding behind these plants. They hide from sharks because sharks eat them. They can change colours. Octopuses have got two eyes and a beak. A beak is a mouth. Octopuses have got three hearts. They like eating worms and plants. Their favourite food is crab.
