African Cucumber

It may be called a cucumber, but it’s a fruit that’s like a melon. The outside has a hard, bumpy peel that’s orange in colour and the inside flesh is lime green. Its taste is like a banana.

Rambutan

This fruit is common in Southeast Asia. Its peel is covered with long and soft hair. Be careful of the seed inside the rambutan. It’s bitter and should be avoided.

Romanesco

This vegetable is a member of the cauliflower and broccoli family. It’s a beautiful vegetable with spirals upon spirals. It can be prepared much like cauliflower or broccoli – eaten raw or steamed or roasted.

Durian

This fruit smells like dirty feet or garbage, but the taste of durian is worth holding your nose for. It has got a spiky skin with a taste of almond. Durians have a short season and are expensive, but they are very delicious!
