ISTANBUL
Istanbul is a beautiful and modern city with many different places to go and many things to do. Especially at the weekends, you have many different options according to the weather conditions and your personality. Here are some suggestions:
Sakıp Sabancı Museum: There’s always an exhibition at the museum but some weekends are special because many famous artists’ work is welcomed here, like Picasso and Miro. The museum also has a nice open-air café with a great view of the Bosphorous.
Cinemaximum: Every Friday, they show different films and you can buy a ticket and some popcorn and watch a comedy or a science fiction film. You can even watch 3D or IMAX 3D here.
BKM: There is always a comedy show or a stand up in BKM. If you like such shows, you can buy your ticket from the gate when you go there, or you can buy it online from biletix.com.
Florya Aquarium: If you like the world under the sea and sea animals, this is the right place for you. You can walk through different types of aquariums, see many kinds of sea animals and buy souvenirs before you leave.
Emirgan Park: The park is in a remote part of the city where you feel like you are in the countryside. You can walk through the forest during spring and summer, see squirrels and have a picnic.
Solar Beach: If the weather is hot and sunny, you do not need to go far away to swim. You can drive your car to Kilyos to get some fresh air by the sea and sunbathe on Solar Beach. There are also many local restaurants that serve fish.
Topkapı Palace: İstanbul has many historical places to visit and Topkapı Palace is only one of them. If you like history, you can go there to learn about the Ottoman Empire and the different life styles.
Yedikule Animal Shelter: If you like dogs or cats and you want to adopt one, you can go to Yedikule. These animals live under difficult conditions and they are waiting for human friends to help them. If you cannot adopt one, you can always visit to provide them with things they need like food, blankets or toys.
