Many artists made landscape paintings. One of them was Claude Monet. He was a 19th century French painter. He was born on November 14, 1840. In 1858, he met Eugene Boudin, who became Monet’s teacher. When Monet was 19, he moved to Paris to become a professional artist. Monet drew nature realistically. His paintings were colourful and lively. Monet moved to a small French town called Giverny in 1883. He made a beautiful garden for himself. There were water lily ponds in his garden. Monet painted his garden. He painted the water lilies in the foreground of the painting, and a forest in the background. In the sky, it was cloudy. This painting became very famous and important for 20th century artists. He was a famous artist. He died in 1926, when he was 86. One of his famous landscape paintings is The Artist’s Garden at Giverny.
