Lasagne
My favourite thing to cook in winter is lasagne. It is an Italian dish and we really enjoy it. To make it, you need some mince meat, an onion, a few tomatoes, some milk, some butter, a lot of cheese, some flour, some lasagne sheets and a couple of carrots.
First, you need to chop up the onion. Fry the onion in a little oil, then add the mince meat. Next, chop up the tomatoes and add them to the meat and onion. Also, cut up the carrots and add them to the meat and tomatoes. Add a little water and let it cook for around 20 minutes.
After this, over a low heat, melt the butter, mix in the flour and slowly add the milk. Stir continuously. When the sauce is nice and thick, add some salt and pepper and then the cheese.
When the two sauces are ready, put a layer of tomato sauce in the bottom of a big ovenproof dish. Then, layer on some lasagne sheets. Put some cheese sauce on top. Then, add another layer of lasagne sheets. Continue like this until the dish is full. Then, sprinkle some cheese on top and put it in the oven at 180 degrees for 30 minutes. Let it cool and then enjoy this lovely, warming, filling dish!
