Lauren in Madrid

Last spring our school took us to Madrid. We went there as exchange students for a month. I thought we were going there by plane, but we took the bus from Paris. The bus ride was long, but we sang, danced and laughed all the way. When we arrived, our teacher, Miss Jackson, took us to an old building. It wasn’t a hotel. It was just a smelly old building with no lift. We climbed up the stairs to the fourth floor, where there was a big flat with lots of rooms. I didn’t really like the place, but the breakfast there was so good. The weather was not bad. It was sometimes too hot, but it was OK in the evening and at night. For three weeks, we took classes and did interesting projects. We also travelled to other cities in Spain, such as Barcelona, and visited its famous places. I really enjoyed the tour there. After three weeks, I didn’t want to go back home. I missed everything, but not the place we stayed in.
