LEAVE REVENGE TO KARMA!
Have you ever heard this statement ‘You should leave revenge to karma’? Basically, it means that when another person does something wrong to you, your first thought should not be taking revenge on them because they will suffer the consequences of their actions in some way. People think that by causing a similar amount of trouble for those whom they take revenge on, they will make themselves feel better. While revenge may make us feel better for some time, it probably won’t in the long term. Here are two reasons why taking revenge on people who hurt you may not be a good idea:
The first reason is that it will not make you feel better. Revenge always seems like a logical reaction when we are hurt. We think we will reach a degree of satisfaction. However, according to evidence, people who take revenge instead of forgiving tend to feel worse in the long run. Their revenge might exceed some moral limits and might make them feel guilty of inflicting unnecessary pain.
Another reason is that the urge to take revenge occupies your mind for a long time and can stop you from leading a normal life. It might make you waste the time that you are supposed to enjoy on feelings that only you care about. When you’re on revenge mode, you want to plan and focus your energy on the revenge instead of your life and your loved ones.
