Leicester City - A Dream Come True

Leicester City, a small club from central England, has won the 2015/16 English Premier League. It is the first time that the British team has become the Premier League Champion in their history of 132 years. The only other team who could catch them, Tottenham Hotspur, was held 2-2 by Chelsea. Following this draw, Leicester won the English Premier League for the first time in their history. Leicester’s unlikely journey from the bottom to the champions has impressed sports fans worldwide. Nobody actually expected them to be the champions. Claudio Ranieri, the coach of the team, has managed to turn the team around. It is the first major league title of his long career. Ranieri says “I think our story is important for all football fans around the world. It gives hope to all the young players out there who have been told they are not good enough.” A lot of sports journalists say it is the biggest achievement in the history of sports because Leicester was at the bottom of the table last year. A sports magazine has introduced readers to the story with the headline: “As Likely as Elvis* Being Alive.”
