LIFE OF AN ATHLETE
Tim is a young athlete at college. He is a marathon runner. In the future, he wants to take part in the Olympic Games, but it’s not easy to be an Olympic runner.
Sometimes he gets very nervous before a race because he doesn’t like to lose.
He spends almost all of his time training.
He has no free time on the weekends because every weekend he runs in a race.
Every month he goes to visit his family and stays at his parents’ house for two days.
He eats very healthy food: protein like chicken and fish, healthy fat like nuts and avocados, and carbohydrates like sweet potato and oatmeal. He wakes up very early in the morning.
Tim has the same breakfast every morning: a large bowl of oatmeal with warm milk, bananas, blueberries and walnuts. At eight o’clock he does some stretching exercises to warm up.
He runs with his coach every week. They meet early in the morning and run for about two hours.
Then they eat lunch together, usually a chicken sandwich with lots of greens and tomatoes.
Every month he goes to his doctor and gets a health check-up. Sometimes, his doctor gives him vitamins or changes his diet. He doesn’t eat any junk food or sweets.
Every year on his birthday he eats some cake with his family.
He sleeps early every day because he gets very tired during the day.
He says he is happy to be an athlete and can’t wait to run in the Olympics.
