Noah Shrimpton lived a comfortable life with his hardworking dad, cheerful mum and energetic dog Dixie. His favourite things in the world were dinosaurs, superheroes and drawing in his journal. He hated carrots and smelly socks!!!

While all the other kids were enjoying their summer holidays, Noah was busy moving to a new house again. He wasn’t very overjoyed about this because he already missed his old friends. He told himself not to worry, but deep down he knew this wasn’t what he wanted to do. On the first day he walked nervously into the playground and saw many new faces. Then, the school bell rang and most of them moved towards the big front door and went inside. What else could he do apart from following them?

The headteacher met him at the door, shook his hand and welcomed him to Appleton High. ‘If we go to your homeroom now we’ll be able to meet your terrifying, new classmates.’ joked Mrs Johnson. ‘Have you ever been to Izmir before? ‘she chatted, but Noah never did answer that question. In the corridor they ran into a skyscraper of a student with blonde curly hair. ‘Hi you, what’s your name, you’re a newbie, aren’t you?’ Noah introduced himself and tried to give him a friendly smile. ‘I think your T-shirt is cool,’ said Noah casually. ‘Connar, shouldn’t you be in class?’ said Mrs. Johnson. The tall boy shrugged his shoulders. ‘Whatever, see you around Shrimpy,’ he shouted as he hurried off. ‘Hmmm, I think it would probably be a good idea if we went now Noah. Are you ready?’ she asked as she walked in the opposite direction. Noah looked back at Connar and started to think what could be his problem? He would soon find out.......
