Lost in the Rainforest
“It was dark and foggy. None of us could see anything. We could only hear loud noises from animals.” Robert’s grandpa started. “We were in the middle of tropical rainforest in Brazil”. Robert asked, “Who did you go with, grandpa? Why did you go there?”. Robert’s grandpa answered, “We were three young friends, and wanted to explore different plants and insects there.”
Robert asked, “What happened?”. Grandpa said, “Well, one of our friends saw a really different kind of insect and wanted to follow it. We walked with him, deep into the forest, because we didn’t want him to go alone. Then, when we were ready to go back to our tents by the lake, we couldn’t find our way back,”. Robert said, “Oh my! What did you do next?”. Grandpa answered, “Well, we were very afraid, tired and hungry. Suddenly, we saw a monkey. He looked at us, smiled and wanted us to follow him. We followed him and he took us to our campsite! We were so happy. We ate and went to sleep in our tents.”
Robert asked, “Wow! What about the monkey?”
Grandpa said, “The next day, the sun was shining, and it was really hot and humid. We decided to go for a swim in the lake. While we were in the lake, the monkey appeared again. He came into the water and played with us!”
