Lucy's Strange Dream

Lucy's Strange Dream

Last night I was sleeping soundly in bed – in fact my sister says that I was snoring loudly. Usually I sleep through the night but something strange woke me up.

There was a flash of light and a strong smell of popcorn. I sat up staight in bed. At the end of my bed there was a short green slimy creature – an alien. It was smiling and staring at me with one enormous eye. My sister was standing next to the creature but she wasn’t smiling and her eyes were glowing.

“Lucy”, said my sister Anna in a weird voice that sounded like a robot, “we were waiting for you to wake. It is time.” “Whwhwh what?” I stammered. I wasn’t feeling good. Anna was looking at the creature now.”I told you my sister was a coward.” My hands were shaking and my heart was beating fast in my chest. “Anna,” I said, “What’s going on?”

Suddenly the alien was sitting on my head and poking at my ears with it’s long hairy antenna. “Poor signal,” it said. “What were you doing all day, Lucy?” I felt compelled to answer. “I was playing computer games with my friends.” The alien jumped down onto the bed and started crying. “Only one of you can come with me,” it said through its tears, “Goodbye Lucy.” It was pointing a huge laser gun at me. What was happening?  Anna was dancing wildly around the bedroom. Lights were flashing and now the creature was pulling the trigger on the gun…

“Wake up, Lucy!” My sister was shaking me. “You were having a nightmare,” she said. I was so happy that it was just a dream. But as my sister turned her face away from me, I was sure that her eyes were glowing just a little.
