MAGIC AND MUSEUM
Mum: Hi, honey. How was your trip to the museum?
John: Oh, mum, you can’t believe what I have seen today…
Mum: Come and tell me. Would you like to have a glass of milk and some cookies?
John: That’d be a great mum. We saw a lot of oil paintings. People did not have any cameras, so they had their portraits painted. They are really nice. There were a lot of knights and I have seen their armour and swords. They were as big as me. I could not imagine how they could carry those things.
Mum: People in the past were stronger than us. They also ate a lot of vegetables which they grew themselves. They had to use a lot of weapons which were made of metal. They had to protect themselves from enemies and wild animals.
John: Yes. Mrs Greenwood told us that they had defeated their enemies with the help of those swords and armour and they had to fight with dragons. They fought with big dragons that could breathe fire.
Mum: Dragons, are you sure?
John: Yes, mum. Mrs Greenwood, who says we should keep our imagination alive, read us the story about Merlin and the dragons. Merlin was a very famous magician. We saw his magic book in the museum. The lady who was in the museum told us that Merlin once stopped a python using magic. Did you know that? I loved the magic story.
Mum: I don’t know that but I know it is time that you wash your hands and get ready to finish your homework or you can ask Merlin to do it for you or you can tell last week’s hero Tarzan to come from the rainforests to save you.
John: Thanks, mum. I will ask Merlin to change the schools to no homework.
