Magical Moment or Not?

Magical Moment or Not?

I was a teenager when I went to Tokyo for the first time. I spent three weeks there with my family and it was definitely one of the best experiences of my life.

On our first day we decided to go to The Senso-ji Temple. First, we stopped at a marketplace and it was very crowded. While I was looking around, I saw something amazing. There was a man lying on a bed of nails and he seemed happy. There wasn’t any pain or blood. I was very surprised. As I continued walking, I saw two men playing the flute and there was a snake coming out of their basket. The snake was moving to the music. When the music stopped, the snake stopped too and went back into its basket. I always wondered how they did it. I wanted to ask some questions, but everyone seemed very busy.

It wasn’t until some years later that I found the answers as I was reading an article about Tokyo. It says that, actually it isn’t painful to sit on a bed of nails, the trick is that the nails should be close together. As for the snakes, they don’t hear the music. The snake charmers play music and move from side to side and the snake moves in the same way too. That’s how they do it. I was a little bit disappointed because everything was so magical when I was there, but I still think Tokyo is an exciting and interesting place to go on holiday.
