Makena and the Baobab Tree

Makena lived on a farm. Behind the farm, there was a big forest and a mountain. Makena liked going for walks in the forest. His mother warned him about the forest but he wouldn’t listen. He wanted to explore every part of it. There was a big tree called the baobab in the middle of the forest. The tree was so old and big that when you climbed on top of it, you could see the whole forest. One day, he was walking in the forest and he heard a scream. He looked around but he couldn’t see anyone. Then he heard it again and looked down. There was a little girl on the ground. But she wasn’t an ordinary girl, she was tiny. She was so small that you could fit her inside your pocket. She was stuck in the roots of the giant baobab tree. He pulled his knife, cut the root and set her free. She thanked her and said she was the fairy of the baobab tree. She gave him a seed and told him to plant it in his garden when the moon was full.
