Maya can't Go to School

Maya can't Go to School

It’s morning. Maya is in bed. She’s not feeling good. Her throat hurts and she has got a headache. She
can’t get up. Her mum enters the room.
- Maya, good morning! Oh, what’s the matter?
- I feel very ill mum. I have got a headache. My eyes are very red and itchy.
- Oh, I’m sorry Maya. Let’s see if you have got a fever. Oh, no! You have got a high fever, too.
- I don’t think I can go to school today Mum. I feel very bad.
- You shouldn’t go to school Maya, but I think we should go to the doctor. You should eat some food first, and drink some warm tea with honey. How about some eggs and cheese?
- Thank you mum but I have got a stomachache, too. I don’t think I can eat.
- You should try to eat something. Maybe, some toast? Eating some food is good for you. It makes you feel strong. I think you have got a cold.
- Okay, Mum. Should I get up now?
- You should try to sleep and rest a little. I can bring the breakfast to your room. Then we can go to the doctor’s.
- Great, thank you, Mum.
