Melissa and Baseball

Melissa loves playing baseball. She has a bat and a ball to play it. She is also in the school’s baseball team. Most of the people say baseball is a sport for boys but she doesn’t care about them because she is very good at playing baseball. She can hit the ball strongly and she can run very fast. When there is a match everybody wants Melissa in their team because she is a successful player. Other than playing in the team, she also meets her friends at the weekends to play baseball with them. They are not as good as her but she doesn’t worry about it. She loves spending time with her friends.

Nowadays, she is also teaching her little brother how to play it and she says, “Even if I know it very well, teaching is so hard and challenging.” After trying to teach her brother how to play, she started to respect her teachers and trainers more and more. She said, “I can never be a teacher. I am not good at teaching.” Her mum told her, “Teaching a sport very well is not enough if that person is not ready to do that sport yet. Your brother’s muscles are not ready to run so fast, so you need to be patient.” Melissa smiled at her mother because she felt so relaxed.
