Memories of the Forest

Memories of the Forest

Today, I went to the forest with my friends. It was my first day in the forest after so many years. The sound and smell of the forest slowly brought back memories of the great camping trips I took when I was a kid. We always went to the forest on the weekends in spring and summer. I remember walking for hours in the woods with my best friend, Tony. I also remember Tony crying loudly when we lost our way back to our camping site. Oh, and I remember seeing a bear and running away quickly because we were frightened. I still can’t believe that I remember so many things about my childhood. Isn’t it amazing?

Amazing, yes! I remember going to the beach in summer with my family. I guess I was only five or six. We used to swim for hours and play happily in the sand. My father helped us to make sandcastles. Then we would eat ice-cream. When we got back home, I’d go to my room quietly and sleep easily because I felt tired after spending the whole day under the sun.

In winter, my grandma made cakes, and I can still remember the wonderful smell! When we got home, I always went straight to the kitchen and ate a piece of cake. She also prepared hot chocolate for me. When she died, the first thing I missed most about my grandma was the smile she always had on her face when I entered the house.

What a great story! I also remember going camping in spring. My family lived in Italy when I was young and we used to go to the forest a lot. I remember waking up early and walking around to find berries. Then on one trip I fell over and hurt my ankle. It was the last time I went camping.

The best memory I have is playing my first song on the piano. It was the New Year and I wanted a piano. My parents bought it as a surprise for me. When I saw the biggest present of my life, I was shocked. I played the piano for hours that day.
